Each memory screening takes approximately 10 minutes and while the result is not a diagnosis, it can suggest if someone should see a physician for a full evaluation.

Sampson County's Care Giving in the Faith-Based Community

Target Audience

This event has been planned for Sampson County Community Champions who care for family members, friends, and/or grandchildren.

Program Description

Sampson County's Care Giving in the Faith-Based Community: Healthy Churches 2022 Conference is a face-to-face conference created to address the mental and physical challenges caregivers/champions experience while caring for a family member, friend, or grandchildren. This year's theme is "Serving Those Who Serve Others."

Objectives

Upon completion of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Identify the mental health needs of those who are caring for or have cared for a family member with a neurological disorder such as Alzheimer's or Dementia
  • Discuss programs designed to help ease the stress and burden of caring for a loved one
  • Identify local and national resources, support groups, educational programs, and services available to support caregivers
  • Summarize the mail caregiver's experience

Fee

This event is FREE to attend and is supported by the North Carolina Family Caregiver Support Program, Creative Regional Solutions, and Mid-Carolina Regional Council.
